One conference day, three things you keep using.
Every talk in full with the slides cut in. A recap of the day for next year's registration page. A speaker kit for each presenter: captioned vertical clips, ready to post as speaker reels. How each piece works is on our event video page. Here is what a Fort Lauderdale crew adds.
No travel fee in Broward
Fort Lauderdale is Video Department's home base. Downtown, the beach, Hollywood or Pompano Beach: same price. Travel to Miami-Dade and Palm Beach is included too.
Early calls, late changes
A 6 a.m. load-in or a second day added at the last minute is a short drive for us, not a flight and a hotel night.
Clips during the event
On a multi-day program, the first clips can go out the next morning, while your attendees are still in the building.
Insured for your venue
We're insured and match your venue's insurance requirements for outside crews; we send the certificate (COI) before the event.

Check my datesFilming at the Broward County Convention Center
The county's convention center sits beside Port Everglades and runs its AV with a union crew. Here is what its planning guide and rate sheet mean for your video.
A union AV crew
The Center's technical crew is IATSE Local 500, and outside AV companies may supervise only. Its guide lists camera work in the crew's scope, so we settle the camera plan with your Event Manager at booking.
Sound from the house system
Every room has in-house sound. We arrange the feed with the union crew before the event and keep a backup recorder at the lectern. The Center adds a charge for house sound when an outside AV supplier is hired, so put the feed in your AV order early.
Paperwork on the Center's clock
Insurance certificates are due 30 days before move-in, and union crew calls need at least 48 hours' notice. We work back from those dates, so nothing waits until event week.
Internet and livestreams
Internet is in-house only, and personal hotspots and routers aren't allowed. Streaming a session? Order the line from the Center when you book the room.
Hollywood hotels
Encore lists an on-site AV team at the Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino runs its own in-house AV. Neither publishes rules for outside crews, so we get the feed, any fees and the certificate wording from the event manager in writing.
FLIBS at Bahia Mar
We filmed MTN at FLIBS 2025. FLIBS 2026 runs Oct 28 – Nov 1. Exhibitors can book a fixed-price booth day, and our FLIBS guide for exhibitors covers interviews, sound and permission to film.

Fort Lauderdale conference questions
What does conference video cost in Fort Lauderdale?
At Video Department (VIDEO DEPT.), a conference day costs $2,900 for Essentials (one camera), $4,900 for Every Talk (two cameras in one room, about ten talks) or from $7,500 for Full program (two rooms or a bigger program). Fort Lauderdale is our home base, so there's no travel fee anywhere in Broward.
Can you film at the Broward County Convention Center?
Yes. We match the venue's insurance and union rules for outside crews. The Center's AV is run by its union crew (IATSE Local 500), so we arrange the sound feed with them before the event. Our certificate of insurance (COI) goes out before the Center's deadline, 30 days before move-in.
How far ahead should we book for a Fort Lauderdale conference?
As soon as the venue and dates are set. At the convention center, insurance certificates are due 30 days before move-in, and union crew calls need 48 hours' notice. Late October is boat show week (FLIBS runs Oct 28 – Nov 1, 2026), so book early if your event lands then.
Do we need a film permit to film our event in Fort Lauderdale?
It depends on your venue. Film permits in Fort Lauderdale and the rest of Broward go through Film Lauderdale, the county film office. Most Broward cities require permits on private property as well as public, and the rules don't spell out events inside a private venue, so we check yours with them. There's no permit fee, only cost recovery such as a police detail. Allow at least 3 business days.
Can you add drone shots at a Fort Lauderdale event?
Yes. Aerials are flown by a licensed Part 107 pilot we bring in. Indoors, the convention center needs written approval, the pilot's details and additional insurance, and allows one drone at a time, 10 lb or less, in a foam hull. Outdoors, the Center sits in the Class C airspace around Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International, so the pilot gets FAA authorization first. Drones are restricted at Port Everglades.
Do you film at FLIBS and other Fort Lauderdale trade shows?
Yes. We filmed MTN's booth at FLIBS 2025. For exhibitors, the boat show package is $2,500: one day at your booth, interviews, and a 1–2 minute film in horizontal and vertical versions within a week. The exhibitor terms ban unauthorized filming, so get the organizer's OK in writing.
Can you live-stream the conference?
Yes. We can live-stream sessions alongside the recording, and we quote the stream together with the filming. We plan the stream and the sound feed with the venue's AV team before the event.
Will you sign an NDA for private sessions?
Yes. We sign NDAs for closed sessions and internal events.
Do the videos come with captions?
Yes. Speaker clips come captioned and ready to post, and full session recordings can be captioned too.
From first call to final cut.
