What we made
- Doctor lessons in clinical settings. Doctors answer patients' questions to camera in front of a CT scanner, a radiotherapy machine and in an X-ray reading room, filmed on two cameras, a wide and a close-up. Topics include imaging, radiation therapy, chemotherapy and tick-borne infections.
- Expert interviews and talk-show episodes. A host and a specialist on studio sets, filmed on three cameras, 15 to 27 minutes per episode: diabetes, gum disease, ultrasound, women's health and more.
- Short explainers. Two- to five-minute lessons by a doctor at a desk.
- A question on screen before every answer. Each lesson is built from patients' questions, so viewers always know which question the doctor is answering.
Why it works for medical video
A medical video has to earn trust before anyone listens. Calm, well-lit sets, two or three cameras so a long answer can be cut down to the clear part, and the same look across a whole series make doctors easy to follow and easy to believe.
The film above is narrated in Nikita's own words, read by an AI voice made from his, over an instrumental of "Say It Plain", the original song we wrote for this project.
From the shoot
This was a big series of health talk shows. Some doctors were so natural on camera that the client made them the hosts, with other doctors as their guests.
We also filmed lessons in real hospital rooms. Those rooms aren't made for filming, so fitting in the lights was hard. We still made it work.
The client's producers and writers picked the topics and wrote every question, so each episode stayed interesting.
The best part is reading the comments, where people say a show really helped them. That's what makes us proud.
