Product videos: on a turntable, in hands and on location
Buyers want to see a product from every side, see it work in someone's hands and see it where it will be used. Video Department (VIDEO DEPT.) has filmed all three for different clients: a truck part and lab equipment on a turntable, a magnetic puzzle toy and sewing magnets on a white table, and a marine antenna mount on black and on a yacht.

On a turntable
A product turns a full circle under even light, so a buyer sees every side, every port and every label in a few seconds. For a hydraulics distributor, VIDEO DEPT. filmed a power take-off unit for trucks this way. For a lab-equipment maker, it was more than 60 products on white and black, from pumps to colour fans. See the lab-equipment case.
In hands, on a white table
Some products only make sense when you see them used. For a toy brand's marketplace listing, VIDEO DEPT. filmed a magnetic puzzle cube on two cameras: the finished cube, a caliper showing its size, and hands putting the pieces together. For a supplier of sewing magnets, hands sew a magnetic clasp into a shirt and into a piece of fabric, close enough to see the stitch.
On black, then on location
For MTN, a marine internet company, VIDEO DEPT. filmed the new antenna mount on a black background, with a callout for each feature (the clip at the top of this page), then filmed a technician fitting it on a yacht, ending with a slow move around the installed mount. See the MTN product film.

Which one fits your product? A turntable shows every side in seconds and suits catalogs and store listings. Hands show the size and how it works. On location shows it where it's used. Many products need two of the three. VIDEO DEPT. plans the shots per product and quotes each project. See product video production.
